Someone else was meant to be Clay

The original pilot episode for the show was shot with Scott Glenn in the role of Clay Marrow. Glenn is known for his roles in films like the Jason Bourne film series, W., and Training day. However, shortly after the pilot was shot, the creative team behind the show decided that they wanted to change the direction of Clay’s character; because of this change, Glenn no longer fit the creative vision for the character, and he was removed from the project. Ron Perlman was cast as Clay Morrow and the entire pilot was reshot with him in the role.
